Where the story began
In Florence, Italy, in 1920, Marcello Vieri’s grandfather established the workshop that would become the foundation of a family tradition.
For generations, the Vieri family worked as craftsmen, shaping metal, stone, glass, and wood for the homes and workshops of Tuscany. Their trade was passed from father to son, each generation refining the techniques of the one before it.

Marcello Vieri grew up surrounded by that tradition.
As a young craftsman, he became especially fascinated by light — not simply as something functional, but as something capable of changing the character of a room. He believed that the most intimate form of lighting was the table lamp: close enough to live beside you, yet powerful enough to define an entire space.
Materials with a character of their own
Drawing on the skills passed down through his family, Marcello began creating sculptural table lamps that combined traditional craftsmanship with a more modern Italian sensibility. Brass was polished by hand. Stone was selected for its natural character. Glass was shaped to soften and warm the light.
No two materials behaved exactly the same, and that was part of their beauty.
Over time, the Vieri workshop became known for lamps that felt less like ordinary lighting and more like objects collected for their form, proportion, and presence.
